This is one of my favorite songs on the Cafe Buono! album, but unfortunately, it’s not one of their big ones so is probably underappreciated. It’s absolutely beautiful, and has the cutest imagery – sheep… in the stars… eating grass… AWWW – while at the same time having a rather haunting and forlorn sort of quality to it. Not to mention we get to hear Airi, Momoko, and Miyabi’s voices in a much different mode from the more frequently heard upbeat chipper sort of singing. They sound amazing, and the low-ness of the song in addition to the mellower type of music makes their voices sound two to three years more mature.
But anyways, I decided it would be really nice to do a cover of it. Unfortunately, there exists no premade instrumental track for it, but Audacity to the rescue! By splitting the stereo soundtrack into two mono tracks, inverting one, and then mixing them back together, I managed to obtain a fairly decent sounding instrumental. Some of the bass is missing (sadness… makes it sound a little more… tinkly or banjo-y or something), and there was definitely a vocal residue, which made balancing between the instrumentals and my voice kind of a tricky compromise. On the other hand, I get to have backup vocals done by Buono!!!! ^.^ I feel special, I got to sing with them… (I wish….)
So here ’tis!
Enjoy!
